Before medical school, I served as a U.S. Navy Nuclear Engineering Officer, where I was responsible for training and mentoring sailors operating one of the most technically demanding systems in the world: a nuclear-powered submarine. I managed portions of our qualification and continuing education program, preparing operators for rigorous Department of Energy oversight and recurring certification examinations. I later served as an Assistant Professor of Naval Science at the University of Utah, where I taught university courses in engineering, naval weapons, and military history while mentoring future military officers. Across both roles, I developed a passion for breaking down complex concepts into clear, logical frameworks that students can truly understand.
Today, I am a fourth-year medical student with a strong interest in a pathology residency. Pathology is the study of disease itself—its mechanisms, causes, and consequences—and it has strengthened my ability to teach medicine from first principles rather than through rote memorization. Whether we’re working through physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, or difficult board-style questions, I focus on helping students recognize patterns, connect concepts, and develop the clinical reasoning that leads to long-term success. If you’re looking for a tutor who combines years of professional teaching experience with real-world leadership and a deep understanding of medical science, I’d love the opportunity to help you reach your goals.
