Hello! I'm Ritika, a second-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine with three years of tutoring experience.
I graduated from Case Western Reserve University, where I majored in Biology and Computer Science. At CWRU, I worked as a peer tutor for two years, providing one-on-one tutoring in college biology and chemistry. I also have one year of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in math, english, and science.

As a tutor, I love to focus on ~why~ what you are learning matters. Especially in the biological sciences, many subjects that initially seem disconnected come together across subjects that ultimately form the foundation for understanding medicine and living systems. I strive to help students make meaningful connections between topics so that the material becomes easier to understand, remember, and apply. I also aim to understand students' unique learning styles (visual, verbal, practice-oriented, big-picture learners etc.) and tailor my teaching style to their goals.
If you're preparing for the MCAT, I can also help with the Chemistry/Physics and Biology/Biochemistry sections. I scored a 517 overall, with a 132/132 in the Chemical and Physical Foundations section and a 131/132 in the Biological and Biochemical Foundations section. I'm happy to share the study methods and test-taking strategies that were most effective for me.
A typical tutoring session is interactive and specific to your needs. We may review difficult concepts through lecture, work through homework problems, practice exam-style questions, and/or develop study strategies. I also value teach-back and active learning, and I encourage students to ask questions during the sessions. Whether you are a high-school/college student taking a science course or someone preparing for the MCAT, I am committed to helping you reach your goals.
