Hello and welcome!
My name is Madeline, and I am a Harvard graduate student and Georgetown University School of Foreign Service graduate who is passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their academic skills, and achieve their educational goals. Over the past several years, I have worked with students across a variety of age groups and academic settings, including literacy tutoring for elementary school students, SAT and AP preparation for high school students, mentoring undergraduate writers and researchers, and helping students navigate college and graduate school admissions.
At Georgetown, I mentored more than 100 student writers and editors, helping them improve their writing, research, critical thinking, and communication skills. I also volunteered as a literacy tutor with DC Reads, working one-on-one with students on reading and writing development. In addition, I have helped peers, family members, and students with college and graduate school applications. Students I have worked with have gone on to attend highly selective undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
Academically, I earned a 1510 SAT score and received 5s on numerous AP exams. I am available to tutor SAT/PSAT preparation, English, writing, history, French, AP coursework, study skills, and college admissions essays.
My approach to tutoring is highly personalized. I believe that every student learns differently, and I work closely with each student to identify strategies that fit their individual strengths, learning style, and goals. I offer both online and in-person tutoring throughout the DMV area. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals!
