I tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Probability, Elementary Math, English, Political Science, and Spanish. My academic background includes graduating high school with a 4.8 GPA, completing Integrated Math 1, Integrated Math 2, Integrated Math 3, Precalculus, and AP Calculus, and taking college-level coursework in differential calculus, integral calculus, and econometrics. These courses have strengthened my understanding of functions, algebraic reasoning, trigonometry, limits, derivatives, optimization, integration, probability, and data-based reasoning.
I have tutoring experience through Stanford’s High School Support Initiative, a partnership between Stanford and a local high school that provided in-person academic support during the school day. Twice a week, I worked with students in grades 9 through 12 during dedicated tutoring blocks. Students were often in small groups, but each usually had a different assignment or concept to work on, so I circulated and provided one-on-one help based on individual needs. I supported students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Precalculus by helping them complete assignments, understand class material, and build confidence with new concepts.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and encouraging. I begin by identifying what the student already understands and where the confusion starts. Then I break the material into smaller steps, explain the concept behind the process, model an example, and guide the student through similar problems. My goal is not just to help students finish one assignment, but to help them build a framework they can apply independently. My motto is this: make hard things simple, not simple things hard.
