Hi! My name is Eugenia Smith, and I’m an experienced educator with over 5 years of working with students in both classroom and after-school settings. I currently teach Humanities for grades 5–6 in Washington, DC, and I specialize in helping students build confidence in reading, writing, organization, study skills, and overall academic success.
I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor lessons to fit each student’s learning style, pace, and goals. I’m especially passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing academically and personally.
I have experience working with a wide range of learners, including students who need extra academic support, enrichment, homework help, or help staying motivated and organized. I’m comfortable tutoring elementary and middle school students (1st–8th grade), and I especially enjoy helping students strengthen reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of the District of Columbia, and I was recently recognized with a network-wide Service Award for my dedication to students and school community.
I primarily offer online tutoring, but I’m open to discussing in-person sessions depending on location and scheduling. I look forward to helping your child grow in confidence and reach their academic goals!
