I’m Cai, a cum laude graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in English Education. I began my teaching journey in the Philippines, where I taught English to high school students and handled research subjects for senior high school learners. In this setting, I developed my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and structured way while also supporting students in academic writing and critical thinking. My experience working with adolescents allowed me to build strong classroom management skills and adapt lessons to different learning levels and needs.
I later moved to Thailand, where I spent two years teaching English in the English Program of a government school. There, I worked with a diverse group of students and gained valuable experience in teaching English as a second language in a multicultural environment. This role strengthened my adaptability and deepened my understanding of how language learning varies across cultural backgrounds.
Most recently, in the United States, I taught English to adult learners, focusing on practical communication skills for everyday life and professional use. Alongside my in-person teaching, I have also worked with online students of various nationalities and proficiency levels, from beginner to intermediate and advanced learners. This combination of face-to-face and online teaching has given me flexibility in instructional methods and the ability to connect with learners across different platforms and learning styles.
My teaching approach always begins with understanding my students’ personal goals in learning English. From there, I design lessons that are interactive, practical, and engaging. I emphasize real-life conversations, especially for learners who want to improve their English for work or daily communication. My goal is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel confident using English naturally, rather than seeing it as a difficult or intimidating subject.
