I hold a B.A. with Honors in Economics from Williams College (1995), where I also pursued graduate coursework in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Venture Creation & Growth Strategy, and Operations & Organizational Leadership at Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, earning a 4.0 GPA. My academic foundation in economics and business strategy informs the analytical and structured way I approach teaching and mentoring.
Over more than five years, I have worked with students ranging from elementary school through middle school in one-on-one tutoring settings, as well as in volunteer and community contexts. My approach emphasizes meeting each student where they are — building confidence through patient, individualized attention while setting clear goals and celebrating incremental progress. I focus on helping students develop not just subject-matter competency, but stronger study habits and self-advocacy skills they can carry forward.
Beyond academic tutoring, I have extensive experience coaching and mentoring young people through soccer and tennis, working with children from elementary through middle school age. These experiences have sharpened my ability to communicate across age groups, adapt instruction to different learning styles, and motivate students who may be struggling or disengaged. The sports coaching context in particular taught me that the best instruction blends accountability with encouragement — a philosophy I bring into every tutoring relationship as well.
