Bio

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a 4.0 GPA and a Bachelor of Science degree, and I will be matriculating at Georgetown University School of Medicine. My academic foundation includes strong performance on standardized exams, with a 1530 on the SAT and a 515 on the MCAT. Through my coursework in science and data-driven disciplines, I developed a structured approach to problem solving that I bring into tutoring, especially for exam preparation.

I have over three years of teaching experience as a peer mentor for an introductory data science course at the undergraduate level. In this role, I held five hours of weekly office hours and led a structured lab section for around 30 students each week. I worked closely with students of varying backgrounds and skill levels, helping them understand complex concepts through step-by-step explanations and practical examples. I also mentored students one-on-one, adapting my teaching style based on how each student learned best. Outside of formal teaching, I have worked with several high school students in SAT preparation, focusing on both content mastery and test-taking strategy.

My teaching approach centers on incremental learning. I break down complex problems into manageable steps so students can build confidence as they progress. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind each concept rather than memorizing patterns, which is especially important for exams like the SAT and MCAT. Having worked with both high school and college students in classroom and one-on-one settings, I am comfortable tailoring my approach to different age groups and learning styles while maintaining a clear and structured path toward improvement.

MCAT

MCAT

I am an incoming medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine who improved my MCAT score from 500 to 515 in three months, with an average of 519 across full-length practice exams. Through this process, I developed a structured approach focused on content prioritization, pattern recognition, and passage-based reasoning rather than memorization alone. I emphasize strategies such as breaking down question stems, identifying common traps, and building consistent timing habits, which I refined through extensive practice and review. In addition to my own preparation, my experience as a teaching assistant has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and tailor study plans to each student’s needs.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a 780 on the math section of the SAT, and I believe in building confidence through fully understanding the types of problems that may appear on the exam. Rather than focusing on memorization or shortcuts, I work with students to break down each concept step by step so they understand why an approach works and when to apply it. This helps students feel more comfortable when they encounter unfamiliar variations of questions. I have several years of teaching experience as a peer mentor and teaching assistant for an introductory data science course, where I held weekly office hours and worked with students one on one to clarify difficult concepts. Through this experience, I learned how to adapt my explanations based on each student’s learning style and how to guide them toward finding answers independently rather than simply providing solutions. I have worked with students at different levels, from those aiming to build a strong foundation to those trying to reach top scores. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing problem solving skills, and steadily improving their performance.
