I am a former GS-13 Economist at USAID and a Duke MPP graduate specializing in the core pillars of economic theory and statistical reasoning. I help students move past the "math anxiety" to master Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Statistics through clear, intuitive explanations and real-world application.

With a background in high-level federal policy, I don’t just teach formulas—I teach you how to think like an economist. Whether you are struggling with supply and demand shifters, fiscal policy multipliers, or hypothesis testing in statistics, I provide the structured guidance you need to excel in your coursework and exams. I am particularly effective with undergraduate and graduate students who need to translate complex data into clear, persuasive narratives.

A Global Perspective on Learning
My commitment to teaching began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tanzania, where I taught secondary school Physics. That experience taught me how to break down the most intimidating concepts into manageable, logical steps. I mainly taught in Swahili, so English isn't too bad by comparison!

A Spirit of Perseverance
I believe the best learning happens when you aren't afraid of the challenge. I bring the same grit to my tutoring that I used to thorough-hike the entire Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. We will stay the course until the material clicks and you feel confident in your skills.

Subjects of Expertise:

Microeconomics: Consumer behavior, market equilibrium, and firm theory.
Macroeconomics: Inflation, unemployment, GDP, and monetary policy.
Statistics & Econometrics: Probability, regression analysis, and interpreting empirical results (Stata/Python).

Let’s work together to reach your academic goals!

Econometrics

As a former GS-13 Economist at USAID, I have three years of experience applying high-level econometric methods to analyze global capital flows and evaluate the impact of multi-million dollar development initiatives. My expertise centers on causal inference and time-series analysis; I also have experience with experimental methods such as regression discontinuity design, instrumental variables, and difference-in-differences. With a Master of Public Policy from Duke and a background in mathematics, I provide students with a deep conceptual understanding of how econometric theory is applied to solve real-world problems.
