I spent about fifteen years living in Paris, where I completed my elementary, middle, and high school education in the French school system. During that time I became fully fluent in French and completed the French Baccalauréat with the distinction Très Bien. I also spent six months in classe préparatoire, a rigorous French higher-education program where I studied subjects such as biology, physics, chemistry, geology, mathematics, and philosophy at an advanced level. I am now continuing my studies at the University of York, where I am pursuing an integrated Master’s degree in Biology.
Over the past two months I have been teaching conversational French online in one-on-one sessions. Before that, I occasionally helped family friends from the UK practice their spoken French and become more comfortable using the language. Most of the people I have worked with have been teenagers or adults who want to improve their speaking skills, pronunciation, and confidence. I enjoy helping students reach the point where they can comfortably hold real conversations and understand how French is used in everyday life.
My tutoring style is friendly, patient, and focused on practical communication. I like to adapt lessons to each student’s goals, whether that means practicing conversation, improving pronunciation, reviewing grammar, or preparing for travel or school. Because I grew up speaking French daily in Paris, I can also help students learn the kind of natural expressions and phrasing that native speakers use. As someone who is currently learning Italian and Japanese myself, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and try to make lessons encouraging, relaxed, and productive.
