I’m Adam! I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics/Mathematics from Brown University and a Master of Education degree in Secondary Mathematics and Special Education from Johns Hopkins University. I have been teaching high school math in the classroom full time for over 10 years. This of course includes a year of online teaching during the 2020-2021 school year. I have taught a wide range of courses during my time as an educator: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. Additionally, I have 5 years of online and in-person after school tutoring experience for students looking to improve their grades in math courses, prepare for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, and GRE), and for students who just want to get ahead in math.
Throughout my education, the best teachers and professors I have had are the ones that made learning fun and engaging but also challenged me to reach my full potential. This is what I try to bring into my own teaching. Math especially can be a difficult and demoralizing subject for many of us. It is helpful to have a tutor that is there to push you, encourage you, and help you use your strengths to achieve your goals!
I am interested in any background or resources relevant to meeting my students’ academic needs. I am easily reached and provide quick responses. Do not hesitate to reach out with any additional questions or schedule a lesson!
