Hello! My name is Margaret, and I am currently a high school teacher with 5 years of teaching experience and 10 years of tutoring experience. I graduated from Ohio State with my bachelor's in mathematics, and attended Notre Dame for my Master’s degree in Education.
My favorite part of tutoring is seeing students set goals for themselves and being able to see and assist them in reaching these goals. I know all students are capable of being successful in a math classroom, and I will always encourage them to take risks and make mistakes so that they can grow as math students. I believe in an “I Do, We Do, You Do” model, where I will show students a problem or two, and allow them to try a few on their own where I can identify common mistakes. Once those mistakes are discussed with the student, I let them try a few completely without my help. I believe that encouragement, dedication, and care are the core of my tutoring practice.
