Hi, I'm Li! I am currently an Honors undergraduate student earning my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. My academic background includes receiving merit and need-based scholarships, achieving a 4.0 GPA, and engaging in extensive college-level academic writing, particularly in research and creative writing, as well as psychology-focused statistics. I attend a R1 university and regularly engage with research and writing-intensive coursework.
I've completed introductory and intermediate psychology courses with A’s and am currently taking Statistics II. I can assist with foundational statistical concepts, common statistical tests, data interpretation, and the research process in psychology. As an honors student, I have experience writing APA-style research papers and literature reviews and have an introductory understanding of the senior thesis process, specifically topic and research question formation, and finding sources.
I have provided one-on-one academic support to college peers in psychology and statistics by breaking down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps. I have also begun to volunteer in my university's writing center to tutor students in creative writing. I have extensive experience in meeting people where they are, practicing patience, communication, and critical thinking to support people, as a volunteer crisis counselor for the Crisis Text Line. My teaching approach emphasizes the importance of understanding why and when concepts are applied, rather than relying on memory. I apply that patient and supportive approach when helping students with writing as well.
I primarily work with college-level students with creative, essay, and research writing, literature analysis, and psychology coursework, including introductory statistics and data analysis.
