I graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. My academic training focused on language development, articulation, phonological awareness, early literacy foundations, and communication differences across childhood. Through my coursework and clinical observations, I developed a strong understanding of how children learn to read, process language, and express themselves effectively. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to support both monolingual and bilingual students while being sensitive to the unique needs of diverse learners.
I have several years of experience working with children in preschool and elementary school settings, including students with special needs. My background includes supporting early reading skills, comprehension, vocabulary development, and structured learning routines in both classroom and one-on-one environments. I have worked in paid positions and volunteer roles, collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and families to help students strengthen foundational academic and communication skills. My experience has allowed me to work with a wide range of learning styles and developmental levels.
My tutoring approach is individualized, patient, and evidence-based. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, encouraged, and confident. I incorporate repetition, positive reinforcement, and structured practice while keeping sessions engaging and developmentally appropriate. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to build their confidence and independence as learners. I strive to create a warm and structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress.
