I am a communications professional with five years of experience working in the field, and I studied Public Relations at the undergraduate level. Writing has always been central to both my education and my career, and I have been told throughout my life—by teachers, supervisors, and peers—that I am a strong, clear, and effective writer. In my current role at a large organization, I am part of a small internal proofreading and editing team that I was selected for after passing a skills-based assessment designed to ensure a high level of writing and editing capability. This experience has strengthened my attention to detail, grammar, structure, tone, and clarity, as well as my ability to explain writing feedback in a constructive and encouraging way.

While my professional background is in the workforce rather than a traditional classroom, I have extensive experience mentoring and supporting writers in one-on-one settings. I regularly help colleagues refine emails, reports, presentations, and longer-form writing, tailoring my feedback to their goals and experience level. I have worked with writers ranging from students and early-career professionals to seasoned adults, and I adjust my approach depending on age, confidence level, and learning style. My tutoring style focuses on helping students understand not just what to fix, but why, so they can grow into more confident, independent writers over time.

I have always loved mentoring and helping people of all ages better themselves, particularly when it comes to communication and writing. I am known for being personable, patient, and a warm presence, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. My goal as a tutor is to build both technical writing skills and confidence, so students leave sessions feeling more capable, supported, and proud of their work.
