I hold a Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology from Syracuse University. I currently work as a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I apply biological and chemical principles daily through experimental design, data analysis, and problem solving. My academic training spans general biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and chemistry, and I have extensive experience translating complex scientific concepts into clear, understandable explanations for diverse audiences.

While I am new to formal tutoring, much of my research and academic experience has involved one-on-one and small-group instruction in an informal teaching setting. I have regularly explained foundational biology and chemistry concepts to peers, presented scientific material to students and faculty, and guided others through experimental techniques and data interpretation. These experiences required adapting explanations to different backgrounds, identifying gaps in understanding, and reinforcing key concepts in a supportive and patient manner. I am comfortable working with high school students as well as undergraduates, particularly in introductory biology, AP Biology, and general chemistry.

My tutoring approach focuses on building strong conceptual foundations rather than memorization. I aim to help students understand the “why” behind the material so they can apply concepts confidently on exams and assignments. I emphasize clear explanations, visual reasoning when helpful, and active problem solving to reinforce learning. Above all, I strive to create a comfortable, encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and developing their scientific understanding at their own pace.

Biology

Biology

I hold a Master’s degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Syracuse University. I am currently a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I study gene expression, protein function, and molecular mechanisms of disease using techniques such as qPCR and Western blotting. My academic and research training includes molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, metabolism, and physiology. I have extensive experience breaking down complex biological concepts into clear, intuitive explanations through research presentations, coursework, and collaborative scientific work, and I am well-equipped to support students in AP Biology, introductory biology, and pre–health coursework.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I hold a Master’s degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Syracuse University, with extensive coursework in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry-related concepts. I am currently a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I apply chemical principles to understand molecular structure, reactions, and biomolecular interactions. My background includes thermodynamics, kinetics, acid-base chemistry, redox reactions, and solution equilibria as they apply to biological and laboratory systems. I have experience explaining chemistry concepts clearly and systematically through academic work and research, and I am well-equipped to support high school and early college students in General Chemistry and pre-health coursework.
Microbiology

Microbiology

I hold a Master’s degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Syracuse University, with strong training in cellular and molecular biology relevant to microbiology. I am currently a Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where I study gene expression, protein function, and molecular mechanisms of disease. My background includes microbial genetics, cell structure and function, metabolism, host-pathogen interactions, and laboratory-based reasoning used to interpret experimental results. I have experience explaining microbiology concepts clearly through academic and research work and am well-equipped to support students in introductory microbiology and pre-health coursework.
