For as long as I can remember, I've loved writing, studying the humanities, and engaging in editorial work. Helping others in building their confidence and abilities in these areas has always been a vital aspect of my academic and professional career(s). I graduated in May of 2025 summa cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Public Policy, and a minor in Sociology. I love philosophy: studying it taught me to better critically think, analyze the world, and gave me ample chances to engage in academic writing. I've presented on my philosophical work at multiple events, completed a robust research portfolio, and won a departmental award for outstanding performance in my major while in school. Outside of studying philosophy, sociology and public policy, I've done editorial work for magazines, book publishers, and was the editor of the opinions section of my alma mater's newspaper. I currently am participating in a journalism fellowship, and am planning to pursue a PhD in philosophy in the future.
In these situations, I guided others through the editorial process, providing support at all steps: brainstorming essay/article ideas; creating outlines; researching rigorously; following through and writing with unique prose; ensuring adherence to grammatical rules, cohesive structure and flow; and ultimately completing a piece with a feeling of pride. Doing so has required first setting goals and boundaries, understanding the client's current skill level and then collaborating on a lesson plan or writing schedule that works best. Providing support throughout the entire writing process comes in the form of consistent communication, constructive feedback, and positive encouragement. For the most part, I've worked with college-age adults and high schoolers to hone in on these abilities.
For six years, I've also worked as a swim instructor, lifeguard instructor and CPR/first aid instructor. I've had experience instructing children to adults in these areas, and it's strengthened my teaching skills.
