Greetings! I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) journalist, poet, and writer based in Washington, D.C. Above all, I consider myself a passionate storyteller, and I love to instill that same passion in others whenever I can.

I received my undergraduate degree in English from the College of William & Mary and recently earned my Master’s degree in Journalism & Digital Storytelling from American University’s School of Communication. As a published writer, I gravitate toward writing about everyday oddities and captivating characters—whether real, fictional, or somewhere in between. I am also an avid reader of all genres.

As a journalist, I reported for The Wash, won the 2024 Gridiron Club & Foundation Journalism Award, and received the Pauline Frederick Robbins Journalism Scholarship. I maintain a Substack newsletter called The Iridescence, which I update regularly in my free time. My poetry has appeared in award-winning literary magazines including Strange Horizons and Rogue Agent. Some of my favorite poets are Sandra Cisneros, Audre Lorde, June Jordan, and Ada Limón.

I tutor because I had the pleasure and privilege of growing up with instructors who tailored their teaching to my personal learning style and worked with me and my ADHD to help me not just succeed, but thrive. Thanks to them, I developed the skills and background I have today, and I hope to pass that privilege along to students facing challenges similar to the ones I overcame in my own childhood.

I am a bilingual writer and journalist with Puerto Rican & Colombian heritage. I am fully fluent in Spanish and have taken various courses on “Spanish for Spanish speakers” throughout my academic career, and I was a member of the Latino Student Union in college. Growing up in the Latino community, I have had the pleasure of helping peers and classmates practice their Spanish for school, work, and other needs. In my personal life, I am often reading or watching Spanish-language media and helping my partner practice his Spanish.
