I am a former Lecturer at Stanford University (2019–2022) and now work as a researcher and writer in Washington, D.C. I completed my PhD in Classics (Latin and Ancient History) at Stanford after earlier study at UCLA and at University College Dublin, where I earned both my BA and MA. During my time at Stanford, my teaching was formally recognized when I was the first fellow awarded a Dean’s Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship in two consecutive years. Teaching has always been central to my professional life, and I bring the same seriousness to tutoring that I brought to the classroom at one of the world’s top universities.

I have tutored continuously since 2008 at the university, high school, and middle school levels, working with large classes, small groups, and one-on-one students. My students have come from the United States, Europe, China, India, and Latin America, and they arrive with very different goals and levels of preparation. Some want top exam results, others want confidence, discipline, and real mastery of the material. My approach is structured, traditional, and practical. I expect careful attention to fundamentals and steady progress week by week. I reward effort and I make sure students understand why the work matters. Learning Latin, history, and the humanities well builds habits of precision and judgment that last far beyond a single course, and I take real pride in helping students acquire those habits and succeed.

Personal Statements

Personal Statements

As a lecturer and graduate student at Stanford University I reviewed and graded dozens of personal statements from prospective students as a former member of my department's admissions' committee. I also helped students write personal statements for their successful applications to top 10 schools in the US and UK, and I wrote letters of recommendation for students who were then accepted successfully to top medical schools and programs.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I completed a PhD Dissertation/Thesis at Stanford University in 2019. I completed the research on time with only standard revisions and the full backing of my advisory committee. My dissertation encompassed over 300+ pages of original research on archaeology, ancient law integrating multiple humanities and social science methodologies.
