I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from Brigham Young University, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving. My academic experience includes coursework in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, classical mechanics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, and computational methods, as well as independent research in astrophysics and magnetohydrodynamics. I am confident tutoring in mathematics and physics at the middle/high school and college levels, and I have a strong ability to translate complex concepts into clear, manageable steps.
My teaching experience includes working as a teaching assistant in the university’s Department of Physics and Astronomy, where I taught students how to use robotic telescopes, analyze observational data, and understand the physical principles underlying their work. I’ve also served as a peer tutor and mentor, helping classmates and underclassmen master difficult coursework. I have worked with students individually and in small groups, adjusting my approach to match each student’s learning style—whether that means walking through practice problems step-by-step, breaking down theory into relatable examples, or building conceptual maps to deepen understanding.
I have taught students ranging in age from middle school through undergraduate level. My style is calm, patient, and focused on building confidence as well as academic skill. Whether I’m helping someone pass a high school physics exam or preparing a college student for a calculus midterm, I aim to create a supportive, structured learning experience where students feel encouraged to ask questions and engage actively with the material. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or suggestions, or to schedule a lesson!
