I work as a Capital Teaching Resident at KIPP DC AIM Academy, where I teach middle school students in Grades 5 and 6 full-time, emphasizing customized instruction based on data. My teaching philosophy is based on developing close bonds with students, creating regular classroom procedures, and presenting material in a way that meets them where they are both intellectually and emotionally.
With a minor in psychology and health education, I graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. By the summer of 2025, I hope to obtain my Standard Teacher Credential in Secondary Mathematics (7–12) in Washington, D.C.
Along with my formal classroom expertise, I facilitate small-group mCLASS intervention sessions where I give students who require further help focused academic support and immediate feedback. I have worked with students of all skill levels and have experience with both whole-class education and specialized learning. Additionally, I co-facilitated a middle school girls' Modeling & Fashion Club, which has improved my capacity to guide, inspire, and foster a sense of community with young students.
By making difficult ideas approachable and interesting, my mission as an instructor is to promote mathematical confidence and clarity. I adapt each lesson to the student's preferred method of learning, whether it is through detailed explanations, practical applications, or illustrations and comparisons. All kids can succeed, in my opinion, if instruction is kind, reliable, and based on high standards.
I'm thrilled to help pupils cultivate a lifelong love of learning in addition to academic accomplishment.
