Hello! I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from Texas A&M University.
I have two years of tutoring experience across a few different subject. Starting in high school, I tutored elementary and middle school students in math, reading, and writing. This was done in a 1:1 setting at a tutoring center, so understanding how each student best learned and how I could convey the information was key. My other tutoring experience is at the college-level. I tutored 3 different sections of people in remedial math - this included improper fractions, long-division, pre-algebra, and other topics needed to take college-level math courses. In this setting, I tutored either two students at a time or one-on-one. Finally, I was a tutor for three sections of introduction to computer science. These sessions occurred with groups of 20+ students and each week the students were tasked with completing a programming assignment.
I also have three years of experience as a software developer, working primarily with frontend technologies but across the stack as well. This coupled with my tutoring experience will help you understand not just what you are learning in school, but how it is applied in the real-world.
My goal during each session is to help you truly understand the topics we are learning. To accomplish this, during our first session we'll discuss your learning styles and how you enjoy learning, so that you can learn as effectively as possible. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!
