Hi I'm Connor! Hi I'm Connor! Ever since the very first physics class I took during my junior year in high school, I have been fascinated by the way the subject is able to make sense of and explain the world (...and universe!) around us. I love being able to apply problem solving strategies to unique and interesting scenarios grounded in real world phenomenon. Following my high school experience in Honors Physics and AP Physics C: Mechanics, I decided to major in Physics when I attended the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!). It was here that my journey as a tutor/educator first began 11 years ago. Throughout my sophomore to senior years at ND, I worked as a Physics tutor in the First Year of Studies Learning Resource Center helping small groups of college freshmen in their Physics I and II courses (engineering and pre-med tracks).
After graduating from Notre Dame with my B.S. in Physics, I entered their Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program where I earned my Master's in Secondary Education while also teaching at a high school in Mission, TX for two years. Teaching AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2 there, I gained valuable experience as a STEM educator. Following my time in the graduate program, I returned to the DMV area where I grew up and have been teaching at St. John's College High School in DC for the past six years. I currently teach on-level junior Physics and AP Physics C: Mechanics. Throughout my time as a teacher, I have been able to work with many incredible young minds who have gone on to pursue STEM majors at colleges including MIT, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cornell, Brown, and Notre Dame.
I love the work that I am able to do in sharing this exciting subject with motivated students. Seeing that light bulb go off in a student's head is such a rewarding experience for me. Although physics can oftentimes be a challenging subject, I am confident that I can help you achieve your goals in the subject and I have the experience and successful track record to back that up.
