I'm Rachel! I recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Politics with minors in History and Spanish. In high school, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and qualified for the IB Diploma. During my time in college, I was an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Comparative Politics. I was responsible for creating weekly lesson plans, grading assignments, and providing one on one help for about 60 students. I also attended a three week study abroad program in the Netherlands focused on International Education Policy, where I had the opportunity to tutor local elementary students in English.
I have experience receiving tutoring help myself. I began to fall behind while taking algebra in high school due to a vision problem. My high school self was a little embarrassed to have a tutor, but she was amazing and helped me get back on track really quickly. My goal is to replicate that experience to my students, it's never embarrassing to ask for help!
I have experience in social studies, reading comprehension, statistics, teaching English to non-native speakers, and AP classes and the IB program. Please reach out to schedule a session!
