I'm Makayla! I am a graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. I obtained my Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Food Systems & Health/ Epidemiology. I'm Makayla! I am a graduate of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. I obtained my Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis in Food Systems & Health/ Epidemiology. As a public health practitioner & consultant, I try to bring what I learned in the classroom into my tutoring approaches. I utilize a holistic learning approach that is personalized to each individuals needs. Encompassing unique methods such as test preparation, college essays or interview preparation, sets me apart from other tutors. Lessons are tailored to the students needs whether it be essay writing, text commentary, or literacy practice. Having defended my capstone thesis and written additional white papers, while tutoring I use techniques to encourage different writing styles; while also boosting an individuals confidence in literature along the way. By offering positive feedback, collaborative writing approaches, and utilizing brainstorming techniques while tutoring, this instills encouragement in order to elevate one's writing skills.

As a seasoned tutor, I am committed to providing a professional and inspiring environment for my students to learn and grow. With over 8 years of experience in mentorship and tutoring, I am confident in my ability to guide and support my students towards their goals. I understand the importance of building trust and rapport, and I am dedicated to creating a safe and encouraging space for my students to feel comfortable asking questions, and exploring new ideas. My ultimate goal is to empower my students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed, and I am committed to being a supportive and reliable tutor in their educational journey.
