Ever since my first biology classes as a freshman in college, I was hooked on science. I actually intended on becoming a nurse, but loved science so much that I switched my major to Biology so I could take four years of science instead of two. During college, I tutored several students in Chemistry, and would also hold free tutoring sessions right before chemistry tests for any students who could not otherwise afford tutoring sessions with me.
After college, I returned to Northwest University as an adjunct professor to teach the Survey of Chemistry laboratory where I often gave short lectures to reinforce topics recently lectured on, as well as developed my own curriculum for the year to demonstrate topics students were learning about. I also taught Chemistry Review courses for students struggling in both the non-major and major General Chemistry courses.
Science can be intimidating and difficult, but nothing beats the feeling of mastering something tricky! I have helped many students over the hump of being scared and overwhelmed by science to feeling confident and excited about the topic.
