I am a particle physicist interested in the fundamental forces of the universe!
I received my undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College with a major in Physics. I received my PhD in physics from Rice University. After defending my PhD thesis I joined the physics department at the University of Maryland where I conduct research on fundamental forces and particles in the universe.
Throughout my education and career I have developed skills and interests in math, physics, problem solving, and teaching. These skills have been useful in accomplishing my own goals as well as in helping others accomplish their own academic pursuits. As part of my graduate studies I have taught undergraduates and given lectures in advanced graduate courses. My intention is always to give students a deeper understanding of the material so that they may confidently build on and apply their understandings beyond the end of the semester.
The opportunity to study math and physics at advanced levels is in part related to standardized test scores. I recognize this reality and I believe that preparing for these tests is crucial for students. I developed my test taking skills and achieved perfect 800 scores in my SAT Math, Math 2, and Verbal portions. I believe that disciplined and supervised practice with an experienced test taker like myself is an excellent way of improving all standardized test scores.
