Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a junior at George Washington University double-majoring in Statistics and Computer Science with a Math minor. Hi, I'm Alex! I'm a junior at George Washington University double-majoring in Statistics and Computer Science with a Math minor. I've taken the full gauntlet — calc, linear algebra, differential equations, mathematical statistics, Bayesian stats, regression, probability, time series — and I genuinely enjoy this stuff, which I think makes a difference when tutoring.

I tutor by building intuition first. If you understand why something works, the formulas stop feeling random and start feeling obvious. I'm patient, I adapt to how you learn, and I don't move on until it actually clicks — whether that's for a college level course or AP exam prep.

If you're in high school, I can also help with standardized testing. I scored an 800 on SAT Math Subject Test, 5 on AP Calc BC, and a 34 ACT — so I know what it takes to perform under pressure and can help you build those skills as well.

Beyond the math itself, I'm happy to help with organization, time management, and building study systems that actually work — things like condensed study guides and exam cheat sheets that help you to identify what actually matters. Going from freshman to junior year, getting those habits in place made a huge difference for me in cutting down stress, and I like passing that along.

I'm available in person or online.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 34 composite on the ACT and know the math section inside and out. I focus on pacing, pattern recognition, and building the confidence to move quickly without second-guessing.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is the foundation for everything that comes after. I help students see the logic behind the rules so problem-solving feels less like memorization and more like thinking.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 throws a lot of new concepts at you fast. I help students organize what they're learning and connect it back to what they already know so it doesn't feel like chaos.
Calculus

Calculus

I scored a 5 on AP Calc BC and have taken math well beyond calculus at GW. Whether it's AP Calc, Calc 1/2/3, or multivariable, I focus on the "why" so the techniques feel intuitive, not mechanical.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I've taken differential equations at GW and know how tricky it can get. I help students see the structure behind different equation types so you're not just pattern-matching — you're understanding.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Getting the basics right early makes everything easier later. I keep things fun and concrete, and make sure concepts actually stick before moving on.
GED

GED

I'm patient and meet you where you are. We'll work through the math fundamentals step by step — no rushing, no judgment, just building a solid foundation.
Geometry

Geometry

Geometry is one of those subjects where a small shift in how you visualize a problem changes everything. I focus on building that spatial intuition alongside the proofs and formulas.
Java

Java

I've taken Java coursework at GW covering OOP, inheritance, collections, and data structures. I can help with assignments, concepts, or getting more comfortable with thinking in code.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

Linear algebra is one of the most useful math courses you'll ever take, but it can feel abstract fast. I focus on geometric intuition alongside the computation so things like eigenvalues and vector spaces actually click.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra is where math starts getting abstract, and that transition trips a lot of students up. I focus on building intuition so the jump to algebra feels natural.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalc is really about getting ready for calculus — functions, limits, and trig all come together here. I make sure you're building the intuition you'll need, not just surviving the homework.
Probability

Probability

Probability is one of my core areas — I've taken it at the mathematical level at GW and built extensive study materials around it. I help students develop the problem-solving intuition that makes tricky counting and distribution problems manageable.
Python

Python

I use Python for both CS and data science work. Whether you're learning the basics, working on data analysis with pandas and numpy, or studying for LeetCode assessments, I'm happy to help.
R

R

I use R regularly for my stats coursework at GW. I can help with everything from basic data manipulation and visualization to statistical modeling and understanding output.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a perfect 800 on the SAT Math subject test. I'll help you spot the shortcuts and build the speed and accuracy to finish strong.
SPSS

SPSS

I can help you get comfortable with SPSS — running analyses, reading output, and understanding what the results actually mean in context.
SQL

SQL

I've studied SQL for data work and can help with queries, joins, GROUP BY, subqueries, and building the logic to pull exactly the data you need.
Statistics

Statistics

Stats is my major. I've taken mathematical statistics, Bayesian stats, sampling, regression, and many other courses at GW. Whether it's intro stats or upper-level coursework, I'll help you understand what's actually going on behind the formulas.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trig clicks once you stop memorizing identities and start seeing how they connect. I help students build that understanding so the unit circle and beyond actually make sense.
