I was born in Hong Kong, the son of two U.S. journalists. Subsequently I lived in Spain for 11 years where I taught both ESL and Music. I then completed both a M.A. and a Ph.D in Spanish and taught Spanish at both St. Mary's College of Maryland and Northern Virginia Community College until I retired in 2012. I was born in Hong Kong, the son of two U.S. journalists. Subsequently I lived in Spain for 11 years where I taught both ESL and Music. I then completed both a M.A. and a Ph.D in Spanish and taught Spanish at both St. Mary's College of Maryland and Northern Virginia Community College until I retired in 2012. I received excellent student evaluations throughout my years at these two colleges. For the past two years I have been teaching Spanish online and in person. I enjoy teaching students over 17 years of age and can teach anything from beginning to advanced Spanish including preparation for A.P. Spanish (I was an A.P. corrector for the E.T.S. for three summers). My classes are always student-centered and I take account for individual learning styles by incorporating a variety of communicative techniques in all my classes.
