Howdy! I'm Jacob. At my full-time job, I write speeches for executives of a leading progressive nonprofit, several of whom are former Obama White House officials. On the side, I help students write personal statements and other admissions essays.

I consult on essays because I will never forget the moment I logged into my dream school's admissions portal and read the word, "Congratulations!" That feeling cannot be described -- but I believe everyone deserves to experience it.

During my last two undergraduate years at Northwestern University, I was selected to consult with undergraduate and graduate students at the University's Writing Place. There, I worked with clients on everything from dark comedy scripts to computer science theses. At Northwestern, I won the Marion Seltzel Heder Prize for Writing. I graduated in three years before completing NU's accelerated Master's program in Public Policy and Administration.

My philosophy is simple: successful essays are fun to read. They're short on fluff and long on substance. My goal is to help your writing exude enthusiasm because enthusiastic writing is endearing. And that, of course, is your end goal and my North Star: to make the reader like you.
