I specialize in helping students succeed in AP US History and AP World History. I've been working in history education for over 12 years. My background in classroom instruction, advanced training in instructional design, and years of 1-to-1 tutoring experience give me a unique perspective on the AP process.

I believe your child needs three things to flourish in their AP history class:

1. Confidence

Many students find the rigor of AP classes challenging. Strategies and systems that worked before often break. Too many students conclude this is a sign they are destined for failure.

Nothing could be further from the truth. I help students ditch ineffective "hacks" that waste their time and undermine their confidence. Your child can master even the most challenging content.

2. Practice

All skills are honed through practice and feedback. I guide students through strategic practice for all sections of the exam - Long Essay Questions (LEQ), Document Based Questions (DBQ), Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), and Short Answer Questions (SAQ).

I train students to approach questions with clarity and confidence. We develop standard operating procedures for each question, so that your child knows where to start and where to go next. We discuss rubric requirements and assess their work, so they can determine if they've met the criteria. Say goodbye to waffling and indecision.

3. Support

Remember when your child was young, and they fell off their bike? You picked them up, brushed them off, reassured them they were fine, and set them back on their bike. They learned because they had your support.

I aim to do the same. There will be bumps on the way to May. But you don't have to go it alone. Your child always gets my undivided attention and my unfailing belief in their potential.

"I took AP World History and AP US History over the past 2 years, and having been new to AP courses, I was really confused with the format of the exam and how to approach questions. Not only did Claire make it easy for me to understand all the SAQs, DBQs, LEQs, and MCQs, but she worked with me through the process to really hone in on my weak points. She taught me the basics as well as advanced AP History specific test-taking strategies in proper fashion and timeliness to make sure I was actually progressing. Great Experience!
