I have experience working as an 8th grade English teacher for two years in the Houston area. I had the highest rate of commended students on the 8th grade STAAR exam in my district during my second year of teaching. As a student, I graduated with two degrees from Boston University in four years, (B.A. and M.A.), both in political science with an emphasis on educational policy. I also wrote two papers that were published in an undergraduate online press, one which highlighted the use of social media in education. In my current role within college access, I have presented and trained multiple counselors on topics pertaining to college writing, including designing my own framework for creating a memorable personal statement.
