I have a background in both psychology and special education, with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Special Education. I was previously certified in Special Education K-12, and for over 7 years, I've worked in public school settings as a paraprofessional and tutor, supporting students across a range of ages and learning profiles.

My experience includes working with elementary students on foundational reading skills through explicit, structured phonics instruction, as well as building reading comprehension and fluency. I've also provided private tutoring, working one-on-one with students who need more individualized support to stay organized, complete assignments, and build confidence in their academic abilities.

In addition, I served as a teaching assistant in the psychology department at Eastern Connecticut State University, supporting undergraduate students with course material and assignments. I am currently continuing my training through a certificate program at Beacon College focused on coaching adolescents with learning and attention challenges, including executive function skills.

My approach to tutoring is structured, supportive, and highly individualized based on the student's age and needs. With elementary students, I focus on building strong reading foundations through explicit phonics instruction, while also supporting comprehension and fluency so that students can access and understand what they read. With middle school, high school, and college students, I focus more on executive function and study skills by helping students with organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through.

I create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel supported while also building accountability. I adjust my approach based on each student's needs and focus on making sessions productive and manageable. Whether a student needs help with early reading skills or broader academic support, I meet them where they are and help them make steady, meaningful progress toward greater indep

Executive Functioning

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and specialize in executive function and study skills support for middle school, high school, and college students. My work focuses on helping students improve organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through. I take a practical, real-time approach by working on actual assignments and building systems students can use across classes. I have experience supporting students with ADHD and other executive function challenges in both school-based and one-on-one settings.
