I am an educator who has taken a two-fold path into the service of youth education. I have taken an informal education path as a youth program leader specializing in social-emotional learning, workplace readiness, and educational equity. I have also taken a traditional education path as a currently-licensed (in Language Arts for grades K-8) educator in Connecticut who applies both traditional and non-traditional methods in workshops and camps. I possess three degrees: a BA in English from Florida State University, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Elementary Education from Baker College, and a Masters in Education Curriculum and Instruction from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. I have tutored before, in 2009, but have applied my educational skills in a children's educational museum since 2011, mentoring and educating kids from ages 3 to 18. I welcome challenges and my desire is to see the "a-ha" moments that kids have when learning or discovering.
