As a recent graduate from UConn’s Master of Public Administration program under their School of Public Policy, I have learned that the need for financial education is not just for the individual but for society at large. I have been a Financial Education Specialist with a Hartford non-profit in the North End over the past year, allowing me to develop a strong sense of the financial needs of disadvantaged youths and young adults. My undergraduate degree in Political Science with minors in History and Public Policy has also enforced my beliefs that in order for an individual to be truly free, they must first have financial stability and an ambitious pursuit. I also have experience working for the Connecticut General Assembly, The Department of Children and Families, and as a Research Assistant. My goal for every student is to establish a personal finance plan that will 1) reduce or eliminate unnecessary debt 2) develop an aggressive budget 3) explain the need for early and consistent investments into 401(k)s, CHET 529s, High Yield Savings, and ROTH/Traditional IRAs.
