Hi, I’m Caitlyn! I graduated summa cum laude from NYU with a B.A. in Psychology, and I am pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology. As a tutor, I work to combine my passion for learning with my professional interest in helping teens and young adults be the best they can be. I've worked with teens and young adults for two years in a clinical setting, which has allowed me to build a foundation in lesson planning and teaching a variety of skills groups in a way that resonates with teens. These experiences ingrained within me how important it is for students to feel comfortable and supported in a learning environment, particularly when faced with new and challenging material.
My goal is to always meet students where they are. Sometimes it’s as easy as organizing thoughts or building confidence, while others need things broken down step-by-step until the pieces come together. I’m happy to create materials tailored to an individual’s learning style, or work through assigned schoolwork together to figure out where things aren’t clicking.
I also specialize in supporting students through standardized test prep like the SAT, GRE, and AP exams, and in guiding them through their college application essays. I focus on helping students understand how to approach questions, manage their time, and feel more confident going into tests. I can also coach students toward finding their writing “voice,” and workshop essay ideas that are both concise and captivating.
Learning should be exciting, not stressful. As a student myself, I have plenty of tips and tricks that helped me through tough courses and reach my score goals for standardized tests. I’m easy to reach, reliable, and happy to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to reach out!
