Hello! My name’s Andy Baker, and I’m an experienced English teacher and writing coach. I’ve worked extensively with students from ages 10-19, first with high school students at Loomis Chaffee (Windsor, CT) for seven years and then with middle school scholars at Renbrook School (West Hartford, CT) for eight. My teaching career has been built on a strong foundation: I graduated from Dartmouth College, and earned a Master’s in English Literature.

Hello! My name’s Andy Baker, and I’m an experienced English teacher and writing coach. I’ve worked extensively with students from ages 10-19, first with high school students at Loomis Chaffee (Windsor, CT) for seven years and then with middle school scholars at Renbrook School (West Hartford, CT) for eight. My teaching career has been built on a strong foundation: I graduated from Dartmouth College, and earned a Master’s in English Literature.

I bring warmth and wisdom as well as humor and humility to my work, helping kids find the confidence and courage to be the best writers, readers, and thinkers they can be. Guiding students to discover the scholar within is my North Star: everyone is capable of exceptional reading and writing because these are deeply human skills that emerge from who we are.
