I'm Jack Goodman, a resident of Wallingford, Connecticut. My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from Marshall University, and a Master of Science degree in Math from the University of Connecticut.

With over seventeen years of experience in tutoring and teaching mathematics, I bring a wealth of knowledge to help students excel in their studies. Having contributed as an employee at three different tutoring centers and engaged in a great deal of private tutoring, I have successfully guided students aged 10 to 27 across a spectrum of subjects ranging from Pre-algebra to advanced topics like Differential Equations.

I specialize in preparation for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, SSAT, PSAT, PRAXIS, and GRE, I am adept at implementing and teaching test-taking strategies and material. Notably, I achieved a perfect score of 2400 on the SAT at the age of 16 and later scored 1450 (800 Math, 650 Verbal) on the GRE. I have helped students raise their scores on all of the above-listed tests, including increases of over 200 points on the SAT and over 5 points on the ACT.

I am dedicated to providing personalized, results-oriented tutoring, tailoring my approach to each student's unique needs and learning style. I strive to teach true understanding.

ACT Math

ACT Math

I specialize in standardized testing, including the ACT. I took the SAT in high school and earned a perfect score, which in my case translates to an equal level of ability with the ACT, GRE, and other such tests. I have helped many students raise their ACT scores, sometimes by as much as five points total. I can teach all of the material as well as any test-taking strategies.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have tutored students in algebra 1 and 2, pre-algebra, arithmetic, and trigonometry professionally at Sylvan Learning Center in the past.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I mastered all of Algebra 2 by 6th grade and since then have successfully tutored hundreds of students in the subject.
Calculus

Calculus

I took high school AP Calculus starting when I was still in Middle School, in 8th Grade. I received a score of 5 for each of the two AP Calculus tests in High School. I continued using my Calculus skills throughout my time studying university-level mathematics (which I began doing in high school), and have tutored many Calculus students.
Geometry

Geometry

I have completely mastered the geometry taught at the Middle School and High School levels as well as a good deal of geometry and topology at University, and have tutored dozens of students in the subject.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I have tutored at least dozens of students in this subject, and all of them who put in effort saw a rise in their grades. The material itself is something that I know like the back of my hand.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I was a child prodigy who mastered all of Precalculus by age 12 and started calculus at age 13. I never struggled with the subject. I am very, very good at things like trigonometry and limits, and have tutored dozens of students in the subject.
PSAT

PSAT

I scored near-perfect on my PSAT, perfect on my SAT, and was a National Merit Scholar in high school. Since then, I've helped countless students improve their scores on the PSAT.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I have a great deal of experience tutoring for both the SAT and ACT. I myself scored a perfect 2400 on the SAT in High School, showing that I am intimately familiar with all aspects of and strategies for the test. I have in the past been employed as a professional in-home SAT and ACT tutor through a separate company, and have received training as such.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I was a child prodigy who mastered all of Trigonometry by the age of twelve, and since then have successfully tutored dozens or even hundreds of students in the subject.

Very skilled tutor

Jack has a lot of enthusiasm and I can tell he really wants to help. He’s got great experience with test taking techniques to increase scores. It’s not all about knowing how to solve the Math problems but also how to take the test.

Great tutor!

My son had his first lesson with Jack and it went well. Jack was very punctual and communicated very well from the initial contact with me till the day we had our first lesson. My son also had confident in Jack to guide him through his PSAT prep. I hope the lessons in the future will continue to help and support my son for his math and PSAT/SAT.

Jack is a very conscientious teacher as well as a good listener and very professional. My son is 12 and Jack can relate to him, they are like big brother little brother.

Relearn and review is helpful. He is kind and patient and understands what I need to succeed. I did not look forward to summer tutoring but Jack is a really good teacher and it is kind of fun.
