Bio

I have been interested in languages since childhood. I spoke Italian at home. Later I went to college in Paris where I really learned French. In my fourth year, my fellow students said that I spoke just like a Frenchman.

Although my main career was in Information Technology, I kept up my interest in languages by teaching French, Italian, and ESL part-time for about 15 years at a Hartford-area international language school and by traveling to France and Italy.

I taught French, Italian and ESL full time at a language school in the Hartford area from 2006 until 2017.

I emphasize speaking, but can concentrate on grammar if you desire. I have developed a large file of teaching materials for French, English, ESL, Latin and Italian over the years.

I would be happy to have you as a student.

I often teach at Panera in Manchester, Starbucks in Vernon, Barnes and Noble cafe in Manchester, a cafe in South Windsor, in the student's home, or an office location in Vernon near Manchester that I rent. Other locations that you may prefer are also possible.

I started teaching ESL part-time at an international language school several years ago. I have been teaching English as a Second Language as part of a full time job since 2005 at a local language school. I can help you with American English pronunciation and grammar with the courses that I created. My courses include punctuation, pronunciation, basic grammar, the verb in the present tense, the progressive and emphatic forms, the regular past tense, irregular past tenses, the difference between MAKE and DO, verbs with prepositions, the difference between CAN, MAY, MIGHT and COULD, short answers to questions such as "Yes, I did" and the difference between SAY and TELL. American English is really hard to pronounce. It does not sound like it looks. I have created my own course in pronunciation to make the job much easier. My students have been from Colombia, Viet Nam, Sri Lanka, France, Russia, India, Germany, Poland, Japan, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
