Did you ever sit in history class and think, "This happened a long time ago and who cares?" Are reading chapters and writing papers for Social Studies is not for you and avoided at all costs? If you said yes to these questions then I can help you. My expertise is making history real and engaging so you can excel in these courses and instructing you in how to write about the topic with authority. No textbooks are used and instruction will be through assigned readings, and primary sources such as documents, photographs and video. What qualifies me to do all this? I have a Bachelors degree in History from Southern Connecticut State University, certified teacher to instruct in Social Studies and 7 years of experience as a teacher.
Taking the SAT or ACT: I have learned techniques to help you with the reading part of those tests. You can also apply this to Science on the ACT. Time management is the key when trying to read the passages and answer the questions and I can teach you how to plan your time accordingly. My training in the reading and writing aspects of the ACT and SAT will improve your score in those categories. Previous employment with a ACT/SAT Tutor company has given me the necessary training to help any student in these areas.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
