Hello Everyone. My name is Timothy. To tell you a little bit about myself: I graduated High School in 2018, I have a certification as a Paraprofessional/Paraeducator and have been in the field for 2 years now, and I have a certification as a Safety Care Specialist (Equivalent of PMT). I am also certified as a Firefighter and volunteer my time when I'm not working. I plan on going to college in the fall for an Associate of Arts in Psychology (The first of many degrees I plan to attain on my track to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
The closest experience to teaching and tutoring would be my work as a Paraeducator. I work closely with Special Needs, Autism, ADHD, PDD, and many more students. I am able to get on their level and work with them based on their IEPs/504s to help them succeed in school. And I think that is the closest example I can get to tutoring.
I work with Elementary Aged Children. I have worked in Small Group Settings, Large Group Settings, 1:1, and General Classroom Settings. Working in Elementary has been my most favorite so far and I truly believe you can make the most difference starting in Elementary, as students are so impressionable. I remember some of my teachers from when I was a kid made the biggest impact on me, and that is my same goal for my students.
