I have worked primarily with students in kindergarten through second grade, but I am comfortable teaching students through sixth grade. I am well versed in researched based literacy instruction and can offer individualized and supportive tutoring services designed to accelerate learning for your student. I am comfortable modifying instruction to meet IEP and 504 plans. I specialize in teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, sound-spelling patterns, multisyllabic patterns, spelling and writing conventions, fluency and comprehension.
I regularly monitor student progress using formal and informal assessments. I plan and modify lessons based on student progress and response to instruction. I try to keep learning light, fun and engaging by using games and a variety of activities that are embedded into the routine and predictable lessons. I am excited to work with new students and continue supporting their individualized goals.
