Vince Was a Joy to Learn From!
I had Vince as an organic chemistry 1 and 2 tutor. Together we did 19 lessons over the span of two semesters. In our lessons he provided comprehensive, organized notes as we went over topics, that were later useful for review. He explained topics very clearly and in accordance with the level I was at- some topics I needed the very basics of chemistry in general, whereas others I was able to understand more readily. Vince clearly knew what he was talking about and it reflected in his ability to explain topics, making learning a lot easier, especially for someone like myself who has a harder time with chemistry. In our lessons, not only did he create notes for me on topics I needed clarity on, but he also created/provided practice problems to help me develop my skills. He used a mixture of having me solve problems or predict what may happen in a reaction and why, and him helping me out when I got stuck. This allowed me to use the knowledge I had to make sense of what was happening and get me thinking, while still providing the help when I needed it. Vince was extremely flexible. He was flexible in his schedule overall; this consisted of last minute lesson changes by bumping forward or backward a few hours, adding lessons, getting rid of lessons, and accommodating students around exam dates. Additionally, in our lessons, I was able to present him with topics once the lesson began and he would explain the subject and provide practice problems, again demonstrating his flexibility and expertise. In our lessons he was a joy to learn from, and it was evident he truly enjoys chemistry and teaching. Vince is always very happy, cheerful, and outgoing. He always tries to provide a laugh or a fun fact, which definitely makes the time doing organic chemistry a lot more fun. If I had not had him as a tutor I can confidently say I would not have succeeded as well as I did my classes. He made learning a lot easier for me, especially in a subject that is not the easiest for me. I can confidently make the recommendation of Vince as a tutor to anyone looking for help in organic chemistry, as he would be an excellent tutor.
