I’m Angelica, a graduate student at Manhattanville College and elementary school substitute teacher. I’m a recent graduate from Manhattanville College where majored in Spanish and minored in Psychology. I’m currently studying my masters in Childhood education with an advanced certificate in Bilingual Education.
I work at Mount Kisco Elementary School, a Bilingual School, where I work as a substitute teacher as well as support for the third grade Spanish zones. In terms of tutoring, I have 6 years of experience. I have done private tutoring as well as tutoring for four years at WestHab, a transitional family shelter. I have experience tutoring a variety of students with different educational needs, subject matter, and grade levels.
I have taken graduate classes in teaching children math. I am well versed in common core math as well as varying math skills. I make math interactive. I also work daily with students at an elementary school during math.
I have taken courses on teaching children reading skills in both Spanish and English. I have worked with students of all reading levels and continue working with students daily.
I am fluent in Spanish and I also have an Bachelor’s degree in Spanish. I currently teach at a bilingual school in the Spanish zone so I teach children to become bicultural, biliterate, and bilingual.
I have taught children of younger ages for years which includes helping them with spelling. I have taken multiple phonics courses which breaks down the parts of spelling.
Feel free to contact me! I love to teach and I care about my students. I’m a personable and creative individual.
