Flexible and fun!
My 4 year-old daughter has been in a Mandarin immersion preschool since she was 2.7. I didn’t want her language to slip just because of the shelter-in-place order. Choosing Gavin as her tutor was a great decision. My daughter has a lot of energy and gets bored easily. Gavin keeps her engaged, weaving in new vocabulary words as they move through the lesson. He allows her to show and tell, act out scenes and digress ever slightly into a topic she wants to chat about. Allowing her to participate in this way keeps her conversing. The hour flies by and she doesn’t realize that she’s had a lesson; she thinks she’s found a friend with whom to speak Mandarin.
