Hello,
I am a professional teacher with nearly a decade of teaching at the elementary level and middle school level.
I graduated from CUNY Baruch College with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Education from Relay Graduate School in New York. I have worked at the highest performing charter schools in New York and understand what it takes to prepare students for rigorous tests. I have posted some of the best grade improvements across a four school network in a really competitive environment. I tutor students on the weekends and mainly focus on ELA and Math test prep. Last year my students had the highest passing English State Test in the school. I also coach soccer after school and I am a life long soccer player.
My approach to tutoring and to soccer is to have a plan. First I take my time to learn about my students. After I learn what their strengths and needs are I create a plan to best tackle any difficulties and then move on to higher levels of learning from there. I like to make tutoring fun and effective. My students love the easy going nature I bring to the table and the way I make the learning material look easy. Each of my tutoring and coaching sessions has a set goal and I strive to reach that goal by the end of the session and also put it into practice.
Overall my tutoring and soccer coaching have the same set of principles. I first start by learning everything I can about my student. Then I formulate a plan for success and lastly I execute the plan. Each session will have a specific goal which we will accomplish and also put into practice multiple times. The more “at bats” a student gets the higher the chances of success and retention of that skill. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals whether they be academic or soccer related. See you soon!
