I’m Traci! I graduated from Parsons School of Design/The New School with a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, and a minor in Graphic Design. I taught myself the Apple Macintosh and Adobe Software from Illustrator and Photoshop when they first came out. Realizing early on that I enjoyed teaching; I became a software instructor in the garment district in Manhattan. Normally, I would teach 1-4 students at a time. I’m Traci! I graduated from Parsons School of Design/The New School with a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, and a minor in Graphic Design. I taught myself the Apple Macintosh and Adobe Software from Illustrator and Photoshop when they first came out. Realizing early on that I enjoyed teaching; I became a software instructor in the garment district in Manhattan. Normally, I would teach 1-4 students at a time. I have been steadily teaching it ever since.
In 2021, I went back to school to get a certification in teaching art at SCSU. At the same time, I began teaching art at the One River School in Westport. At One River, I taught traditional art as well as digital art to groups of kids aged 3-17. I truly enjoyed the experience tremendously and it was extremely rewarding to teach kids as well as adults. I make sure when I teach to have a clear and concise lesson plan and I will give homework so that students can practice on their own and make the most of what they’ve learned.
Finding that teaching a small group of students at a time to be the most beneficial, I tend to feel that private or small group of students learn the easiest, with one-on-one help given whenever needed. As a recent student myself, I could carry forth what I gleaned from my professors and put these into practice by providing students with engaging ways to learn, real life projects from my graphic artist career (in various industries) utilizing my skills as a graphic artist and a teacher who can stand in my student’s shoes.
