I am currently a Professor at a private university (earlier at a public and two other private universities) in graduate (MBA, MS and PhD) business, statistics and analytics, operations and supply chain mgmt, finance, and strategy disciplines. Among the courses I teach are: Quantitative Methods & Analytics; Probability & Statistics, Operations & Supply Chain Management; International Business; Strategy & Innovation, Information Systems; Operations Research (aka Management Science), Corporate Finance and Organizational Leadership. I've also taught undergraduate capstone writing courses on organizations & collaborative leadership.

With two graduate degrees from Cornell University, I have years of experience in successfully addressing real world problems, as both an international management consultant and as a high technology business executive.

I truly enjoy one-on-one tutoring, particularly simplifying complexities, theories or problems and offering analogous examples so that students truly understand the "why" and "what" of the underlying logic and problem approach, rather than only the how. As a result, dealing with the subject and real world issues becomes much more intuitive and second nature.

For the last decade, I have been an adjunct professor of undergraduate capstone courses at the University of Connecticut and a wide spectrum of MBA courses at Fairfield University, Post University, and Albertus Magnus College. These include Probability & Statistics, Quantitative Methods & Business Analytics, Operations & Supply Chain Management, Management Science & Operations Research, Information Systems, Research Methods, International Business, Corporate Finance, Strategy and Innovation. I have a graduate degree in quantitative methods and an MBA. Prior to teaching, I was a global management consultant and then an executive in services, research, and strategy at IBM.

I have many years of experience in teaching and tutoring college students in a variety of expository writing subjects and disciplines, including everything from thesis development, to effective outlining, to organization, to good narrative flow, to engaging the reader, paraphrasing and summarizing sources, to basic writing mechanics, including sentence structure, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and, if necessary, appropriate APA citations. I also tutor students on strategies for excelling in the essay components of the GRE exam. I have developed and taught two capstone writing courses at the University of Connecticut overthe past seven years The subject content of which are "Organizations & Leadership" and "Collaborative Leadership." Beyond reading, commenting, and providing suggestions and corrections on student writing, I continually provide beneficial writing tips and explain how to avoid common writing errors.

Much More Than You Bargained For!

Ivan B. is a true subject matter expert in (among other areas) the statistics and operations management body of knowledge. He is quickly perceptive of individual level and learning style, and delivers the material in a manner that creates a series of "aha" moments, using a combination of short explanations of underlying theory and principles, followed by the application of tools, techniques and formulas to the required assignment. Skillfully and ethically, he closely guides you through assignments without doing the work, allowing real learning and mastery to take place. In these few hours of tutoring sessions with him, I learned more than I did in the entire semester. I recommend him highly.
