I am a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience in early childhood and elementary education. My teaching philosophy centers on nurturing the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—while creating inclusive, engaging classrooms. I hold a Connecticut State Professional Educator Certificate with Endorsement Code #113 and have taught in both general and special education settings.
I began my career in 2003 as a first-grade teacher, developing expertise in early literacy, numeracy, and differentiated instruction. I used formative and summative assessments to tailor instruction to meet individual needs. In 2014, I transitioned to Pre-K, where I implemented play-based learning, launched a STEAM after-school program, and developed a cross-grade literacy partnership.
From 2016–2021, I taught kindergarten and led a grade-level SEL initiative, using growth mindset strategies and individualized behavior plans. I secured a technology grant and trained staff to integrate tablets into instruction.
Since 2021, I’ve served as a Preschool Special Education Teacher at Willard Elementary School, where I write and implement IEPs, lead SEL efforts, and deliver hands-on instruction through STEM and inquiry-based learning. I support behavior goals with structured routines and reinforcement strategies.
I’ve also contributed as an ESL teacher and served on School Climate Committees. Collaboration with families, staff, and specialists is central to my work. I remain committed to equity, innovation, and fostering a learning environment where every child feels supported and valued.
