Hi! My name is Chris and I’ve been teaching and tutoring physics for 17 years, including all 17 years teaching AP Physics. I’m a certified teacher in New York, and I serve as the Science Department Leader at my school. I have a strong passion for teaching physics and love helping students reach their goals, whether that means turning a failing grade into a passing one or pushing already high grades even higher.

My journey to becoming a physics teacher began when I was a junior in high school taking my first physics class. Within just a few weeks of that class, I realized that I wanted to spend my career as a high school physics teacher. I pursued this dream by earning Bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Human Development from Binghamton University, and then continued on to Boston University, where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching in Science Education: Physics.
Throughout my career, I’ve taught a wide range of physics courses, including AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, AP Physics 1, Honors Physics, Physics, and Conceptual Physics. I’ve worked with students at many different levels, from those who need help building foundational skills to those aiming for top scores on the AP exams.
Although I’m new to Wyzant, I’m certainly not new to tutoring. When we begin working together, I always start by asking about the student’s goals for tutoring, and those goals guide everything we do in our sessions. Sometimes that means working through assigned problems, other times it involves reviewing class notes, practicing new problems, previewing upcoming topics, or finding fresh ways to explain challenging concepts. My philosophy is simple: I work for you.
If you’re looking for a friendly, patient, and experienced physics tutor with strong academic credentials and nearly two decades of classroom experience, I’d love the opportunity to help you succeed.
